SFIFF51

identity, print

In 2008, the San Francisco International Film Festival, the longest running film festival in the country, asked Factor Design to create the visual identity for their 51st festival.

process

While it was crucial to keep the emphasis on the films, we constructed "ribbons" that were able to inject color, movement, and rhythm to the static images. This illustrative approach allowed us to explore fluidity and scale, reinforcing the movement or highlighting the tension inherent in each film still. The wide array of deliverables included invitations, visitor passes, outdoor displays, print ads, a website, and the program guide.
